Creative Writing Workshops

Our creative writing workshops are designed to spark imagination, build confidence and inspire a lifelong love of storytelling. Led by published author and former teacher Kate Simkins, every session is fully interactive, curriculum-friendly and encourages even the most reluctant writers to discover the joy of creating their own stories.

Our workshops include:

  • Build a World – Create unforgettable fictional worlds, complete with maps, magical locations and unique rules.

  • Create Magical Creatures – Design extraordinary creatures, exploring their appearance, habitats, behaviours and special abilities.

  • Form a Secret Society – Invent hidden organisations, complete with mottos, symbols, secret codes and mysterious traditions.

  • Short Story Writing – Learn how to plan, structure and write a complete story from beginning to end.

  • Novel Writing – Discover how authors develop characters, build plots and sustain longer stories.

  • Author Visits – Meet a published author, explore the journey from idea to book and enjoy an engaging Q&A session.
